Strange Odors Reported Across DC
Strange Odors Reported Across the District
Updated: Wednesday, Sep. 28, 2005 - 4:11 PM

WASHINGTON - A bizarre day for D.C. Fire & EMS after several dozen phone calls have been received about unexplained odors all across the city.

Spokesman Alan Etter says between midnight and 1 p.m. Wednesday, they have received 36 calls. Firefighters have responded to 11 schools, as well as the fifth and sixth district police stations.

What the odor is and where it's coming from remains a mystery.

Washington Gas is confident that natural gas is not the source of the problem. Company spokesman Tim Sargeant says they're still working on it.

Etter says it's possible that storm drains could be to blame, since the lack of rain has kept them from being flushed.

3. He's a good example that cosmetic surgery doesn't always help.
he had an eye job and rumor has it a mini face lift and he's still ugly as hell, it must be seeping out from the inside.

10. It's all that hot air coming from the mouths of hundreds of
repugs. Simple as that. Someone tell them to shut up and the odor will go away.

On second though, I've been saying DC stinks for 5 years now. No one took me seriously...

14. simple answer
in many parts of the city, the storm sewer and the sanitary sewer are intermingled, when it rains, the storm sewers are flushed and cleaned (at the expense of the Potomac, of course) since, before Thursday, it hadn't rained on drop in 6 weeks, there was no flushing of the stuff people flushed.

bad stuff.
