1. Yes
The threefold law actually works (Wiccan reference).

Trust me on this one.... I know of what I speak.

4. Goddess knows!
It just works out that way. I think it has something to do with physics and more math than I can comprehend.

9. Themselves.
Edited on Fri Sep-30-05 10:27 PM by lildreamer316
It is not possible to treat others badly and be really comfortable with yourself. You can convince yourself you are, to infinity, but to anyone with a clear view of you, it will be vitally apparent. Therefore, you will not exude the positive energy needed to attract to you truly good people. If someone good DOES enter your sphere, it is to learn a lesson for themselves...then they will leave.
It DOES come home to roost. Not always in this lifetime, though. Whoever said patience is a virtue had no idea.
Think about it. Crimes so vast as, say, PolPot's, would take much more than one lifetime to atone for.

24. What if you knew Pol Pot was now living a comfortable life
as, say, a professional party DJ, and had a lot of friends and a loving family? Would it change your beliefs about karma if you saw direct evidence that it doesn't work?

18. The only two rules in Wicca
1. Do what thou will an' harm none.

2. The threefold law - what ever you do will come back to you threefold. Do good and you will get three times as much good in return. Do evil and you'll get three times as much evil in return.

I'd add "All acts of love and pleasure are my rituals" but that's not so much a rule as a statement of purpose.

17. I just see too many people getting away with too much...
hurting so many others...and that's just in my very small corner of the world.

I let things overwhelm me, I cannot help it. :(

14. We make the world we live in
Ours is a learning species. As a child we learn from our parents, teachers, and friends. As we grow older we develop a stronger sense of what our values are. But even after we are adults we weigh and balance what others do as a measure of what is permissible in our society.

Thus if you do harm to others or set bad examples others will learn from this and in time you create a world where that is the standard by which all live.

But if you cause enough hurt and act like enough of an asshole, you might have a bright future as a Bush administration crony, especially if you are incompetent and unqualified as well.

And truly evil people are often rewarded with 90 mil/year salaries as corporate CEOs (or a birthday party filmed by MTV's Sweet Sixteen show).

23. Nope
In fact, they usually get rich that way and then have more money than the people they hurt, so they can hire better lawyers, while the people they hurt continue to struggle under the debt load they left behind.

But no, I'm not bitter...
