1. I saw that painting up close.
It was in the Art Institute of Chicago. It's really impressive in person.

5. Hi, GopisEvil!
I have a friend who attended art school in Chicago, and he says when he was a lonely art student, he'd go over to the AIC just to stand and stare at Nighthawks.

How've you been?

9. I've been good thanks.
You?

I actually had to leave the AIC twice on my visit there. I was so overloaded with great art, my brain shut down. I needed to decompress. Good thing it was free Tuesday. :D

Thanks for your good wishes, aquaman. The worst part of the whole exhibit ordeal (wearing a dress and makeup) is over now. ;)

Though I am considering going to film school after I finish the degree I'm working on now. One of my life's goals is to get into politics and try to effect as much positive change as I can (which is why I'm working on a Political Science degree right now), another is to get into filmmaking.

Nice "after" pic (but the "before" ain't bad). I had surgery last December, and I am so happy I did it. I feel better about myself, and don't look 10 years older than I am! And I didn't care if people approved or not -- did it for me, not them. Good on you!

51. Actually, mine was my face, but it was kind of related to weight
I got up to almost 200 lbs at one point, then changed my eating habits and lost about 40 pounds, but my face did not look like I'd lost anything! It was so depressing, plus my chin seemed to be disappearing, etc. I felt good about the weight I lost -- and definitely healthier -- but looking at my face, well, ugh! So I took the plunge and now my face looks like it lost weight too!

I have several friends who had the surgery you did, and I'm so glad. They had tried a number of ways to lose weight, and it was a losing battle. With both of them, their health really was in danger -- they both had a number of health problems that were directly related to their weight (both over 300 lbs). They have lost a lot of weight, and with it, a lot of the medical problems they had. I'm so happy for them!

I feel like I owe you two an apology or something. It's late and I'm tired, and am getting a cold. Anyway, I did not look at the text of auntAgonist's surgery post, just the pictures, until after both of you had responded to me. I hope it did not seem like I was being disingenuous or anything; again, I was tired and am a little sick.

I hate it when I do that.

I miss the weekends hanging out, but I'm making some nice cash right now that'll be spent on some nice Christmas presents for Mrs E and me, so it works out:)

Right now my top 3 I'm listening to are:

The Wheat Pool (great alt-country band out of Edmonton who we're playing on the station)

The 8th Grade (GREAT CD, Paul!)

and I've been really getting into The Collins Kids:

http://www.rockabillyhall.com/CollinsKids1.html

Just smokin' rockabilly by siblings who started out in the 50's; Larry Collins was an unbelieveable guitar player even as a teen..

117. Not really.
Still lots of congestion, head feels like it's twice it's normal size. Gonna call the doc tomorrow and make an appointment. Last time I felt this way, I ignored it, thinking it was "just a cold". This was right before a vacation to Vegas with my hubby, inlaws, and most of my family. To this day, I have no recall of the flight from Seattle to Portland, and Portland to Vegas. Spent most of the time barely being able to breathe -- turns out I had bronchitis, sinitus, and some other "itis". Am heading back to Vegas on the 12th of this month, so am not taking any chances!

Thanks for the hug, and here's one back to you (germ free!)
