Eeek! A mouse.
It started last night. I can hear it under the house gnawing on the wood, trying to get into the kitchen from underneath.

I am annoyed, the cats are excited. We will see what happens tonite.

We have'nt seen any here for a few years now, but we did have some before that.

I was in the hardware store earlier and saw someone buying mouse traps. If the cats don't do their job then I guess we will buy some humane traps. I happen to like mice, but am terrified of them spreading disease.

Ya know, they really do eeek. I did not know this until one time Penelope had gotten a hold of one and it let out this EEEEEEEEEK! I screamed and the mouse got away.

2. I like mice
I made friends with one at my work. I used to leave pistachios out for him. One time the copier jammed, and I found all my pistachios hidden in the paper tray.

My bosses would set traps for him, and I'd go through at night and spring all the traps. I think they knew it was me, but they never said anything.

Cutest little tike. I can still see him, twitching his whiskers and washing his face across the room.

Don't know whether he ran off, or got caught by a trap I missed. I don't think they'd have told me if he did.

Germs, huh? My daughter probably spreads more diseases, but so far I've just let her run wild, too. (I'll pay for that when she's a teen, I bet.)

5. I was 15 when I worked in the music store.
Which is where I witnessed the death of vinyl. And saw the birth of the CD.

That's the first time I heard of eek a mouse.

11. Our field mouse story.
We had a mouse come into the house during the first year we lived here but after patching the entryways we haven't had a visitor since. We do have field mice among the night critters in our yard.

When we began reclaiming the overgrown weed beds we had to reduce the significant slug population. We used the tried and true method of sunken shallow containers filled with beer. One day I was sitting on the patio and noticed a field mouse running in one of the beds. It was running in an erratic pattern and I thought it might be injured so I went closer to investigate. The mouse saw me and wobbled away as best it could. I then noticed that every slug trap in that bed was bone dry. The little mouse wasn't injured, it was drunk!

12. Oh my.
That sounds like what I will do. Do they like imports or domestics? Ya know what, there is a brans new local brewery around the corner. I will try some of that. Maybe they will smell it and go over there if they like it.

Thanks for your post.

14. They're cheap drunks, apparently, just like the slugs.
And they drink it warm.

Seriously, it was one of those times when I felt cruel because the poor little thing had no idea what was happening to it, but I also couldn't stop laughing. I'm thinking it had a massive hangover the next day because the slug traps were never slurped up again.

18. I have noticed being copy catted one time before.
I thought it was funny last night because it was my thread that was coppied.

I am not usually a part of the copy cat fun.
