You are Bush's tour guide for an hour, where would you bring him
Edited on Sun Oct-02-05 08:25 PM by hatredisnotavalue
I have to visit my mother this week at the state's veteran's nursing home. I would love to bring Bush. The A wing is where all of the soldiers from Iraq are missing mulitiple limbs. The next wing is the vets of the Persian Gulf and Korean Wars who are crazier than loons because of what they saw serving their country. The next wing is the widows of these veterans who keep calling for their dead husbands and the last wing is really sad people waiting to die. This is my stop.
edited for spelling

3. I'd take him to visit my friend's cousin.
He is currently spending time in a mental institution. He hasn't been the same since he came home from Iraq. He needs to be locked in a room w/ him for a couple of hours and see what his decisions have done to a 21 year old who was so full of promise just a few years ago.

10. Sorry about your friend's cousin
I'd like to take him to Big Springs, TX where mental patients are being kicked to the streets--and limited time to be in therapy--and they don't have money for the meds.

14. That's happening everywhere now.
They've been making cuts to mental health here in MO too. They've(state leg) have been shutting down habilitation centers and sending some patients to homes instead(and those are the lucky ones). There have been reports of mentally challenged adults who have been in the system their entire lives now being evicted out of hab centers because of funding w/ no concerns for where they will go now.

Let that be an example to our idle rich, the Duponts, Coors, and Rockefellers, that they're next.

'nuff said.

On edit - I would make him live there for 2 months, during the winter, with no way to acquire any of his normal "resources".

11. Good call, KitchenWitch...or to the Navajo reservation I worked on
about ten years ago...
Or to the place I work. Owned by a reThug with money falling out his asshole, and as an HR professional, I spend several hours each month filling out information on forms from state agencies/Habitat for Humanity, etc., verifying that yes, that employee works here full-time, and yes, that's all they make, and yes, they are eligible for food stamps/housing assistance/WIC/etc etc etc. because $8/hour in the 21st century JUST DOESN'T CUT IT.
Damn, the minimum wage should be around $15/hour if it had kept pace with inflation over the last 20 years (since the RayGun years of the oh-so-Christian notion of 'trickle-down economics')

Son of a bitch...I'd like to see him and Cheney the Dick and the whole sorry lot of those assholes sentenced to a lifetime of honest labor at today's minimum wage.
