Does anybody wish it was 1989 again?
Star Trek TNG was starting to hit its stride
We had a better president, surprisingly
In Living Color was about to debut a year later
Doctor Who was still airing in England
James Earl Jones was doing movies other than Star Wars!
The B-52s released what most believe is their best album ever.

And others?

1. I got married to a fantastic woman...
...whom I knew for about ten months.

Still together, still happy.

Yeah, 1989 was pretty good.

2. I think I'll pass on 1989
My daughter was two and very, very good at it. Can we skip forward another year or two?

3. No.
I turned 23 that summer, and I had a nice summer romance, and my best friend got married.

Otherwise, 1989 was damned difficult.

and things looked a little brighter.

15. Might be interesting
I was six and having a pretty fun time. I hadn't done much to screw up my life yet; I wouldn't mind going back and "fixing" the years that came next! Alright, I'm not *totally* serious, but it would be interesting.

24. Of course - I'd be 16 years younger,
and 16 years further away from death!

Anyone who says otherwise is just not being practical. Who wouldn't wish for a temporary victory over hair loss, cellulite, and the Grim Reaper himself? Huh?

where there were the Monday demonstrations. I was only 14 back then but one time I went with my parents (when it wasn't that dangerous anymore like the first ones). It was breathtaking all those people on the streets, peacefully chanting "We are the people"

42. I was eight in 1989 and it was a good year to my recollection
All my grandparents were alive then, I was completing my first year of primary school and that was the year we went to the UK and met up with a whole lot of friends and relatives, some of whom are no longer with us. So I'd be willing to go back to 1989

But I'd like to be the age I am now and go back to 1989 as well. Politics was interesting, the party I belong to in my country was in power and it would probably have been easier to find employment as a consequence and a whole wave of change and idealism was sweeping the world. I'd have loved to be old enough to have experienced all this and appreciated it for what it was

Edited on Tue Oct-04-05 11:02 AM by BlueIris
I was ten. And if you think a ten year old can't experience some stress, man--think back. Ten sucked. It's weird that you would bring that up, now, though--I was just thinking about one or two good things from the real of my pre-pre-adolescence.

And, dude, as long as we're feeling nostalgic about "good things about to show up on t.v." in 1989--Twin Peaks? Helllllooo? Best. TV. Ever. One of my fantasies about the future involves creating another successful drama like Twin Peaks.
