1. from a metal fan...
I can't possibly see myself thinking Metallica did anything worthy of all the hype that surrounds them.

17. but their movie is so enlightening!
snicker. :hi:

(actually, I found the music overall quite dull and unimaginative, although I did like the guitar player.)

5. It's not even the best Metallica song.
"Battery," "Motorbreath," "Master of Puppets," "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)," "The Four Horsemen," "Ride the Lightning," and "Seek and Destroy" are all better.

That said, it's a boss track. Just 'cause those are better don't mean it ain't kick-ass. Metallica was fuckin' TIGHT those first three records.

8. Whiplash...
I know that it's weak, content-wise (I hate songs about being rock-stars...at least this one isn't about how hard it is being a rock-star), but it's fucking powerful and catchy, and the best part is that there's that awesome solo....and then it's punctuated with a tacet and the band shouting "WHIPLASH", and then... ANOTHER SOLO!!!!!!

That's kick-ass.

But I'm reigning it in as the best Metallica song. The best metal song is too close to call between:

Can't Touch this - Anal Cunt

War Ensemble - Slayer

Black Metal - Venom

Morbid Tales - Celtic Frost

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath

That gets my vote. That or Seek and Destroy.

Best Metallica I mean... best metal... um, no.

7. my metal experience
Began and ended with Ozzy Osborne Black Sabbath.

And from what I have heard of the rest of it, it hasn't changed much since then. Just more slick and (over) polished.

As for Metallica, good intros but then the songs start.

Felt like a fight not related to politics. :-)

Sweet Leaf - Black Sabbath

10,000 Years - High on Fire
