Okay, does your SO ever drink a little too much at the country
club.... Offer you a clam that you politely decline because you decided on a steak instead, keeps shoving the clam at you saying come on, you say no about three times....

Then they get the message and then start all over again three minutes later... Now with a slight slur to the voice....

Want a clam...

No...

Come on...

No thank you...

Just one....

Not, If I want a clam I would have ordered them...

They are really good....

Slam down the hand on the table and the glasses bounce up, snarl like Dick Cheney and say What part of no don;t you understand....

Everyone looks at you like you are some kind of nut...

Did that ever happen to you....

3. YES! I have had that happen.....but not at a country club, and not
with my SO.....

But with my much beloved MIL...many years ago.....

She just could NOT take no for an answer......

It made me wild with controlled anger (more or less controlled)

She just had to keep on pushing the food at you...till something gave...


I'm sorry you had to deal with that tonight...it just sucks....

17. Ever since my country club - like country clubs all over - lowered their
standards, this shit happens all the time.

makes me fucking ill.

It used to be that, at least the country club I didn't have to deal with the illiterati, but nowadays, unlike yesteryears, the nouveau riche don't feel any need to actually learn manners or etiquette.

Makes me sick.

Even money can't protect me from the illiterati like it used to.
