Catch Moyers' NOW if you can, esp. the segment on the contracts
in Iraq...links all over the place. Chalabi and his son's telecom deal; Haley Barbour, redacted reports with no $$ amounts on the items contracted...

If this were on network TV..........

6. Maddening..
This auction crappola on this PBS station. They did show the idiotic 'News Hour' with Jim Lerher, though, which has become essentially as worthless and propagandistic as the corporate network 'news' broadcasts.

Is 'Now' supposed to be broadcast over the weekend instead? They did not bother to say.. the local jerks.

'Now' is about the only worthwhile public affairs program left on PBS.. and here they pre-empt it for auctions.. which will no doubt continue for hours each night through NEXT Friday too.. total jerks at the PBS affiliate here in Kansas City.

8. Thanks..
Apparently the show was simply cancelled this week here in lieu of the auction.

9. Quicktime vid of the Iraq/Halliburton (etc) segment is online here
53 M

The word that got partially chopped off at the very end of the segment is "profiteer". I'll be uploading a fixed version later, same URL.

(It was on where I live at 9:00), but I saw Bob Barr. I'm always amazed to see Republicans who make sense and have a bit of independant thought. This guy's working with the ACLU against the Patriot Acts. He even talked about how he disagreed witht he neocons and why.
