1. me me me!!
I loved last nights episode. I loved seeing Katy Segal as she is such a great actress.

Leap of faith.... that was so good. now we are going to be wondering is it or isn't true. I love it.

6. And how will they ever know?
Furthermore if they ever had the chance to get off the island.... would they be able to get far enough away from whatever would happen in 108 minutes.

But for Locke to pose it as a Leap of Faith for Jack to push the button is kind of backwards for me. Wouldn't it be more of a leap of faith to not push the button? But I guess for Jack who is more of a realist, pragmatist, scientist, if I can't see it it isn't there kind of person maybe it was a leap of faith for him.

Very interesting!

7. The opposite is true for Locke and Jack.
Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 08:45 AM by Shell Beau
It would have been a leap of faith for Locke NOT to push the button and it was a leap of faith for Jack to push it. I know Hurley is freaking out. Just when he thought things were getting back to normal.... And what about Ana Lucia faking Sawyer and them out in the trap?

10. Agree with you on the leap of faith part
Saw that about Ana Lucia psyching Sawyer out - plays to his weakness I guess as he thinks he can get away with almost anything by being a lady's man. Unfortunately my dad called me early in the show and I missed a lot (just the audio) of what was going on. Did it give more clues as to who the people are? I missed that unfortunately.

survivors. Did you see the previews for next week?

15. I saw previews
Are they really other survivors of the plane crash? I know that she knew the flight information but did any of the others make mention of the flight and plane crash. Because I didn't see or rather hear that first part I'm not totally bought into the fact that they are survivors.

If they are though it could be so interesting - to see how different people would survive the same crash - some are ruthless (like our president) and others work on forming a community. It will get way way interesting with the good guys (or who we equate to being good guys at this moment) with access and knowledge about what the capsule guy said and his food stash. There is going to be a big power struggle over that food. If Jack tries to go cautious on them and let's dole out food in measured allotments I'm sure that other group of survivors (or whoever they are) are going to try to divide the group. Maybe that is part of the scientific experiment.

I also think the other group is going to end up killing the capsule guy.

I love the show - so many possibilities.

17. Well, I know for sure that Anna Lucia is one of
the survivors just b/c of her encounter with Jack before the flight last season. But the other people could be anyone I suppose. There is certainly going to be some food issues and I think some trust issues. The part where Jin was speaking complete and accent free English in the previews got me. But it is probably some sort of dream or flashback (since he looked so clean).

20. Ana Lucia tricking the Raftaways...
I think the Planetail Survivors probably do this to any new people they come across, in order to figure out who they are. I imagine that they've had a lot more trouble from the Others than our friends from Season 1. If the people they encounter turn out to be Others, they probably meet somewhat less-than-happy fates. But I think next week the Raftaways are going to be released, and Michael is going to begin his search for Walt while Sawyer and Jin lead the Planetail Survivors back to the beach camp or the caves.

21. I bet you that the ending of Season 2 will go something like this:
Something has happened that they aren't able to get to the button in time. The last few seconds of the clock tick down. The last number flips from 1 to 0...

Cut to black screen...

The "LOST" logo floats up onto the screen...

And we have to wait until Season 3 to see what happens.

He wrote that great "Walkabout" episode, where we start to get Locke's backstory.

Don't know his role in this year's episodes.

As for the rest, you might want to try looking them up on www.imdb.com or www.tv.com

If you want a good show to check out, I recommend Càrnivale. It got cancelled after the second season, sadly, but it was an amazing show. Really creepy, lots of mystery, extremely well done show.

29. yeah
but this line is interesting

After the War, Hanso became the leading purveyor of high-technology armaments to NATO.

My own theory about what has happened is that soemtime during the war, with the increased activity in the pacific and electromagnet anomolay was discovered on the island. Notes were made and passed on to the scientists and Hanso's people discovered it and went there to study it and awoke something.

This ties in a bit with the plot of the comic book that Walt was reading.
It's worth any Lostians time to check out the details of that book.

You can go here

http://www.lostlinks.net/

and click on Walt's comic book and read the whole thing. In english fortunately.

What if "Lost" itself is nothing more than an elaborate behavorial experiment? Something put on television to see how people react to the mystery, and what kind of communities they form in order to solve the mystery among themselves. The theories that they come up with, their justifications for those theories, their arguments...all of it could be an incredible wealth of information for sociologists and psychologists...

Okay, now I'm feeling creeped out...

But one thing you can't say about Locke's father is that he is philanthropic.

That and Hanso seems to be one of the uber rich not just super rich. Plus he may be a bit older.

I think Locke's dad is the single most evil person yet depicted on the show. I so wanted Locke to fire up his car while Daddy was in it and ram it into the nearest wall.

36. It's hard to find a show that has
gripped me as much as this one. Jin speaking perfect English was creepy but, like others said, it may have been a flashback or a dream or what they sometimes do in movies when the action takes place using a foreign language (that is, have the characters speak a little in the foreign tongue then seamlessly switch into English).

46. They wouldn't use a cheat like that (substituting English for Korean)
Because that's one thing they set out to do that made Season 1 so great: Not dumbing it down for the audience. When everyone who was present could understand Korean, then Korean was spoken, with subtitles. When no everyone who was present could understand Korean, then Korean was spoken, without subtitles.

I think it may be a dream sequence, or maybe who knows? Jin might actually speak English and be fooling everybody just like Sun was.
