The Official Brazilian Joke Burial Thread: Pay your condolences.
On this solemn day, we mourn the passing of the "dead Brazilian" joke. It had a great life, and brought joy to many. But, it led a turbulent life and was cut down in its prime. It alone, reached 10,000 posts here on DU in record time, as celebrated by DS1, and it did so even faster than progmom. :wow: Just as many shooting stars do, it burned out quickly.

Go forth to a better life, young joke, we hardly knew ye.

Please pay your respects now.

3. It was a good joke. It made me laugh.
And the initial backlash even amused me. It quickly became more annoying than Carrot Top on speed, however. Rest in peace, dear Brazilian joke. You've gone to a better place now.

Umm... We are gathered here to pay our respects to one
"Dead Brazilian" joke. As it passes on to the Great Null Device,
we are reminded of it's selfless service to those who had the
good fortune to encounter it in it's youth...

5. ahhh, the Gallagher of lounge humor retired forever?
the silliness it sparked was funny, just like Gallagher smashing fruit with a hammer. But it got old and sad quickly. Now it makes me think about death and misery.

We've counted 72 of them in the past 2 months. Every time we go out, we see one and yell the count to each other.

10. I understand the sentiment.
I react in a similar manner to the gigantic clock coffee tables.

However, even the heights reached by those cult items are mere
specks on the horizon created by the "Dead Brazilian" joke.

We must show it the respect it deserves.
