Okay, who can name all nine Muses without Googling?
Hint: There is a method that involves the Internets, but not a search engine.

Ready, set, go!

3. yes. a bunch of streetcar stops in New Orleans are named...
... for the muses. Along with the streets themselves, I guess.

Well, that's how it was, anyhow...

Terpsichore was one of them, I think.

8. DING DING DING!! We have a winner!
The internets method to find the names is as follows:

Go to Yahoo! Maps or MapQuest or whatever and enter this address (or one close to it):

1600 St. Charles Ave., New Orleans, LA 70130

The cross streets starting at about the I-10 Freeway overpass and working uptown will be: Calliope, Clio, Erato, Thalia, Melpomene, Terpsichore, Euterpe, Polymnia and Urania. This is a sweet (and unflooded!) section of the city known as the Lower Garden District or Coliseum Square.

Of course, N'Awlins being what it is, some of the names are given unusual pronunciations: Calliope is KAL-e-ope, Terpsichore is TERP-sick-core, and so on.
