My friend really annoyed me tonight
I was at a Thanksgiving dinner party. I usually give my friend a ride home from parties at this location - she's on the way. Tonight she started giving me hints about going home about 8:00 or 8:30 because she was tired. When I didn't take the hints she started to whine about walking home because it was raining.

I have no problem giving her a ride, but I'm not a car service. You go when I go. It's a $5 cab ride, so I figure she could have made a call if she was that desperate to get home.

Am I a terrible friend?

1. i don't think you're a terrible friend, i think your friend should have...
been at least willing to split any difference time-wise without a huffy-fit but that's just me

3. I'd brush it off
People have bad days and get annoying sometimes (meaning your friend was annoying). Unless she brings it up later, I wouldn't worry about it.

4. prolly not
As it was a dinner party, I'm guessing you hadn't been there all that long before she started hinting to leave.

5. You are correct
If she was to leave, she should have. If there was no acknowledged agreement that you would leave when she was ready to go, or vice versa, then she was incorrect to pit your friendship against her need/expectation.

Did you tell her she could get a cab if she was ready to go? Or, perhaps in a lesser degree of being rude, did you simply say you were not ready to leave, setting up the inference that she could figure it out by her big girl self?

8. I told her I wasn't ready to leave yet.
She ended up waiting for me. We left when the majority of the people left.

At one point I did accuse her of nattering at me (in a half-joking way.)
