Please cross your fingers--I might be an extra in Shah Rukh Khan's film...

!!!!!

Long story short, I have to call on Friday to find out if they can use me this weekend. They could have used me tomorrow, but I have this stinky job thing happening. :cry:

They might not need me, but if they do it'll be cool even if he's not there and filming is with other people.

Please cross your fingers that they will use me, huh? I have high hopes of being "Faded woman all the way in the back making kissy faces at Shah Rukh Khan" or "Crowd member #2898 who walks past store(and makes kissy faces at Shahrukh Khan)".

There was a rumor from "a kid on set" that he went home for a few days--and his wife's birthday was Saturday so I'm guessing that's probably true (but I didn't think of that before, grrr).

And it was raining a lot in NYC on Saturday so I don't even know if they were shooting (maybe indoors, but I had no info about that).

But, it was a good weekend overall--I converted my best friend to a SRK fan (and introduced her to Hindi films) with Kal Ho Naa Ho :party: .... and of course U2 was TERRIFIC. They were just awesome.

I'm hoping it comes through for you!!!

If they do call you, make sure you take some snacks or a lunch. By law they are required to feed you, or at least provide time for you to eat.

If it's an indie or lower budget project, sometimes they aren't as organized as far as the extras are concerned and you are kind of on your own. Better to be prepared, than to end up on a set for 10 hours totally starving!

Hope they call!

I think about fifty bucks...that's the usual case, right?

Thanks for the suggestion to bring something, though. While there is a plan for them to feed us (was told that before I called) I don't know if I want to be waiting on a long line for some eats when I'd rather be working on getting SRK's (or anyone else's) autograph/picture/invitation to dinner/dancing/marriage. :silly:

but it's been a while since I did any extra work.

I'm glad you checked up front!

Wish I had. The raggedy production I worked on seemed to be catered by someone's mama. They only made enough for the main players. We were told NOT to eat until all the principles got their food, we would get what's left. There was nothing left.

So we(the extras),got pretzel sticks, chex mix and chips. :eyes: The wardrobe people were so pissed. They wanted to report them to the union! LOL!
