1. Depends on the amount of patience
you have.If you have zero then zero.I know many couples with 4 kids who do remarkably well.I have one I wish I would of had more, but one did try my patience.

2. For me--ONE
I don't want kids.
I feel whatever is in a family's means. If they can afford to have multiples, then they should go right ahead and have as many as they like.

I don't like seeing people with 3 or 4 kids and struggle to make ends meet.

29. Ha...
My sister always mixes up her sons and my name. He is 11 and she has twin girls that just turned five.

I never thought I would say it but I do want a kid or two. The urge is progressing as I age. It is freaking me out.

You're supposed to summon various demons and sacrifice goats and shit for the 666th. Maybe listen to some Judas Priest backwards ro something.

Actually my parents have mixed up my and my brothers' names before too. Just plain ign'ant if you ask me.

6. I always wanted a huge family. My favorite movies when
I was a kid were "Yours, Mine and Ours" and "With Six You Get Eggroll". I liked "The Sound of Music" too.

Having a huge family looked like so much fun!

For me, 2 is enough - but I wouldn't judge others.

9. I grew up in a Catholic neighborhood
where there were at least 3 families on my street with 8 children. Lots of babysitting opportunities for me, but when I saw how crowded their houses were, and all the bunk beds, I wasn't envious. I only had to share a bedroom with 1 sister not 3.

11. It depends.....
My daughter was a handful from the getgo - did not sleep through the night until age 4, and has always been high maintenance. She's currently 12 going on 16.

She took so much out of me when she was an infant and toddler, that there was simply no way I could ever do it again.

Had I had a more mellow, easy-going first child, there might have been a second.

In general I'd say no one should have more children than they can afford and have the time and energy for.

16. Ev'ry sperm is sacred...

DAD:
There are Jews in the world.
There are Buddhists.
There are Hindus and Mormons, and then
There are those that follow Mohammed, but
I've never been one of them.

I'm a Roman Catholic,
And have been since before I was born,
And the one thing they say about Catholics is:
They'll take you as soon as you're warm.

You don't have to be a six-footer.
You don't have to have a great brain.
You don't have to have any clothes on.
You're a Catholic the moment Dad came,

Because

Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
If a sperm is wasted,
God gets quite irate.

CHILDREN:
Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
If a sperm is wasted,
God gets quite irate.

GIRL:
Let the heathen spill theirs
On the dusty ground.
God shall make them pay for
Each sperm that can't be found.

CHILDREN:
Every sperm is wanted.
Every sperm is good.
Every sperm is needed
In your neighbourhood.

MUM:
Hindu, Taoist, Mormon,
Spill theirs just anywhere,
But God loves those who treat their
Semen with more care.

MEN:
Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
WOMEN:
If a sperm is wasted,...
CHILDREN:
...God get quite irate.

PRIEST:
Every sperm is sacred.
BRIDE and GROOM:
Every sperm is good.
NANNIES:
Every sperm is needed...
CARDINALS:
...In your neighbourhood!

CHILDREN:
Every sperm is useful.
Every sperm is fine.
FUNERAL CORTEGE:
God needs everybody's.
MOURNER #1:
Mine!
MOURNER #2:
And mine!
CORPSE:
And mine!

NUN:
Let the Pagan spill theirs
O'er mountain, hill, and plain.
HOLY STATUES:
God shall strike them down for
Each sperm that's spilt in vain.

EVERYONE:
Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is good.
Every sperm is needed
In your neighbourhood.

Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
If a sperm is wasted,
God gets quite iraaaaaate!

17. For Me?
Well, one, that I will adopt. At the age of 4 or 5. I think if I brought a baby into this world when there are hundres of thousands if not millions of children no one wants because they aren't babies it would be so selfish of me. I'm not talking about anyone else's decision or what they want to do. More power to you if you're responsible and can take care of a baby and not kill them or make them stupid.

20. 2.1 per/ woman is the US norm according to a new study
This same study claims that we (Americans) are not breeding fast enough to keep our poplation static. I wish I had a link or something but I heard it in my car on MPBN about 4 or 5 days ago.

Sorry but I don't have mauch of an opinion on how many children are too many. For me, one was enough, but for someone like like my sister 5 natural children and 5 foster kids makes her happy.

My personal yardstick reasons that 2 children are enough for the theoretical 2 parents to propagate their genes. Beyond that you are assuming your genes need more representation on the planet.

24. Pure logic says more than two(per couple) is too many.
With limited resources on the planet, limited space it is truely insanity to increase the population any more.

People can wail about their reproductive rights all they like. But the simple truth is that soon we will have to pay for over population. We all know nature is not kind to species who over extend their resources.

37. really
There are several reasons I hate it. When I was growing up I had to be so many things. My Dad wanted a scholar (I graduated college Magna cum Laude), my Mom wanted a cheerleader (oops, didn't make it), grandma wanted me to be musician, grandfather wanted an athlete.
With my 4 kids, they are all different things and I enjoy living vicariously through them!

On a much more serious note, I am in my late 50's and disabled and will be alone in the care for my widowed, elderly Mom. If you have siblings you can share that responsibility.

Also I have 2 cousins who were only children and they passed away in their 20's leaving their parents devastated. I know losing ANY child is horrible but when you lose an 'only' it takes away grandchildren and connections to the future.

Also I was pretty spoiled and used to getting my own way. Didn't help my marriage much!

Caring for my dad would have been awful if I hadn't had siblings. The support was really wonderful.

Now, my FIL lives with us, but we don't speak with DH's sister, so it is like he is an only.

If it's totally selfish, then as many kids as one can handle. I guess.

But if one considerate about fellow mankind, then two maximum, and better if none.
