A question for any bankers- double withdrawl from account?
I have a car payment that is withdrawn from my checking account every month. Two different banks are involved. It is due on the 8th of the month. On the eighth (saturday) the bank was closed. On Monday there was a banking holiday. On Tuesday they withdrew their payment. They repeated the process on Wednesday. Due to other outstanding withdrawls I now have 12.61 left in my account. I called the bank I have the checking account with, they said to contact the bank that holds the auto loan. Who is responsible for an overdraft fee if they don't credit my account in a timely matter?
