how many bathrooms in your house?
we have 2 full for a family of 4. the master bath is quite lovely - standing shower, large jacuzzi tub, plenty of space. the downstairs bath is more "traditional" and much smaller.

our old townhouse had 3.5 bathrooms for the same family of 4. it kinda seemed like overkill, but having a toilet on 3 of 3 floors actually worked out. the master bath was not nearly as nice. standing shower, no tub, not much space.

we have 4 bedrooms to the 2 baths. what is your ratio?

7. how many floors?
my house is 1850 sq ft on 2 stories. 1750 sq ft is a lot of space for 1 person! you must have lots of stuff.

(once, while we were in transition my fam of 4 lived for 2 months in a 750 sq ft apartment with 1 bath with all of our "stuff." it was hell! ;-) )

12. One story
and , yes, I have a lot of furniture, things....shoulda seen what I ditched before I moved here to CA last January...lol

I do a lot of art (oil painting, mosaics, decoupage), am an Interior Designer, and also play piano and guitar...so, gotta have room...plus, I like having a home with a separate dining room. Am pretty spread out around this place (am renting right now). Will be buying a home within the next 6 months, and figure I need at least 1400-1600 sq. ft. to be comfortable.

*WOW* Living in that 750 sq.ft. place must have required mega organization!! :hats off to you!:

13. not organization - chaos!
;-)

we moved with a month left on the lease because my sanity was at risk.

if you don't mind my asking - do you think asian decor lends itself well to a very large room?

15. Yes!
However, it depends on colors, (walls, furnishings, and accessories) arrangement and lighting. Keeping things simple has a wonderful effect on presenting asian decor/art.

If you have a room you want to do, PM me, and will gladly help if you can provide pics of space, items. Also, it helps to have been looking at rooms done in ways that you find appealing...helps to narrow down what you see as your end vision :)

33. Seriously?
I don't doubt you, I have one friend out here that has an outhouse, although they do have a tub and sink(s) in the house.

And I've had many friends that lived in the mountains that either had an outhouse, or a seperate shower building.

39. Actually
it is indoors, but it's an add on to the original house (1836). You can't tell from the outside, but in the basement you can see how the house was added on to over the years...lots of cellar walls down there.

my dream upgrade to the master bath is a double sink so i can have mine and my husband can have his. and i will never even look at his ;-)

...just me, but my BF stays over a lot.

The upstairs unit also has three bedrooms (plus one that could be used as a fourth in the full attic) and one bath, unless you count the one time I'm positive I heard someone peeing off the balcony. In that case, two bath. :grr:

Try that in the middle of the night..especially with "death stairs"..the stairs with narrow treads and no landings to help brake a fall.

31. One..but it's big!
We live in a very old farmhouse, and the room that is now the bathroom used to be a bedroom. So it is quite large for a bathroom.

We're (slowly!) remodeling the whole house, room by room, so when we get to the bathroom we plan on putting in a standup shower and a big soaking tub with the jets...ahhhhh, that will be nice! :-)

Our house was moved forward on the property in the 20's and a new kitchen and bath added on then. I have a neighbor with a bath like you describe. Those are great for adding all the nice things.
