I am a Nascar fan. I am a democrat. I am not a white supremacist. This is an offensive comment. You may be over-zealous, but that's not right. How can you accuse me of being a white supremacist? I am not the typical nascar fan but so what. I live in NY and am 27. I am not some cross burning redneck as you imply. :argh:

You shouldn't label people like that. I don't care who the drivers are. I also like football, baseball and basketball. Are they white sports? What you are doing is wrong.

You are partially right. Many white racists watch NASCAR because it is the only "white sport" left.

NASCAR fans are conservative because its fan base is disproportionately rural, working-class, white and Southern. It is not because of some subliminal messages from the NASCAR.

In other words, many NASCARites are hypocrites or just plain dumb.

NASCAR fans are pro-Bush because of the demographics of its fans, not because of the cars.

NBA fans are probably Democratic. Is that because of the orange basketball or is it because they are mostly metropolitan fans?

You seem to be saying that since Nascar lacks enough black representation (which it does), anyone who likes the sport must be a racist.

That's just flat silly. It really isn't worthy of commenting upon but hey, I've got an extra minute. Did it ever occur to you that there might be people out there who actually LIKE watching American stock cars go in circles?

In my opinion Nascar could use a black driver who came along and kicked the snot out of the rest of em for a year or two. Might expand the fan base a bit.

There's a lot more established - and more serious - data about racism in this country. Stuff like this might make you think you look like you have some sort of awareness most people don't, but it's reckless.

Do not stereotype all of us. A LOT of NASCAR fans are bigots. Go to any NASCAR message board and talk about race and you'll see how widespread it is. However, many NASCAR fans are good people.

But beyond that, I find it boring. It's basically two hours of left turns.

sorry but i actually find myself at a loss for words on this one...well, dark-humor and satyrical comments are running rampant in my mind, but being new, i know not the sensitivity factor of this board...if you catch a white supremacist watching anything for any extended period of time, it's prolly cuz he can't find the dang remote control...it's not racial, it's whether you like cars and product placement...
