BANKSY

Keeping his identity a closely guarded secret, the graffiti artist Banksy has made a name for himself with provocative images stencilled around the streets of London and the world.

He's being featured in a gallery right now so apparently people are callng him a sell out and what not. I disagree.

Oh how I'd love to see this exhibition!

1. Impressive.
I usually disagree that graffiti is guerilla art, but this is really arresting.

3. I think as long as it's art, and not just tagging, it's fine.
If it's got a message, all the better.

4. Channel 4 did an 'exclusive' report from the exhibition
amidst the 150-odd rats. You should be able to watch it via this link:

I love Banksy's graffiti work, but I wasn't too impressed with the paintings that were shown. However I don't think the exhibition makes him a sell-out in any sense.

Another British artist you may like is David Shrigley.

LOADS of stuff at http://www.davidshrigley.com/

also, re graffiti you may be interesting in tracking down a showing of this film:
