Young DUers! This old woman needs your opinion...
My daughter and I have a small disagreement about the band All American Rejects. She doesn't think they are emo; I do. She says the music is too bouncy to be emo, but because most of their songs seem to be strongly emotional, I think that bumps them to the emo category.

What say you?

1. I say the "old woman"
who started this thread is probably half a dozen years younger than me, so I am kinda embarrassed that I clicked on it thinking the OP was sixty something and that I could pass for "young" but at least I fit in the 'rejects' category.

2. well, all I can say is...
I discovered my wife in bed with another man, and I was crushed. So I said, "Get off me, you two!"

3. Definitely not
Most music is emotional in nature... I think "emo" has come to mean a kind of style... dressing in all black, for one thing.

Are most of their songs about how sad they are? How horrible life is? How miserable things are since something or other happened?

10. Yes. They are sad, crushed, lonely, rejected, alone.

4. Um....LiW...I have news for you
You aren't old.

If you're old, then that makes ME old...and I am not old.

Besides, you're too hot to be old. You look like a young Markie Post with edge and style.

5. First, I'm ten years older than you are.
Second, I'm not hip to what the young people of today are into. Never heard of such a category, or the band you speak of.
Crap, I'm old.
