Quite interesting. Though Koufax wasn't a terribly observant Jew, he felt an obligation to not pitch on Yom Kippur.

He was my boyhood hero and one of the classiest gentlemen in baseball. Too bad he had to beat the Twins twice in the '65 World Series. At least they got beaten by the best pitcher I've ever seen.

11. A hitter had to have brass ones
to stand close to the plate when Bad Bob was pitching. Facing him had to be a totally terrifying experience - he was the kind of pitcher who'd brush your chin with a 95 mph heater twice just to let you know that he really meant the first one.
