but yes, there are plenty of places in Seattle where one can find amusement into the wee hours if it's what you're after. Pioneer Square on the weekends is fairly hoppin' until 1 or 2 a.m. and there are a number of places wereone can go even later.
Freemont and Wallingford are fairly 'organic/vegan/birkenstock' ends of town and their are things to do there, as well.
Seattle Center (where the Space Needle and many entertainments are) is in a district between the Denny Regrade and Lower Queen Anne. Both are pretty trendy and quite attractive to young, upwardly mobile couples.
There's almost always something going on at Greenlake, especially in the summer. It's a hub of athletic activity, including a public running track, places to rent skates, bikes, paddle boats...or just sit and admire the beauty (of either the lake or the firm persons running by). There's a number of organised athletic teams that play there, and a fair amount of nightlife in the neighbourhoods of the park.
Yesler Terrace is perhaps a place to avoid. The rents are tastey, but the district is a rough one.
Capitol Hill is a district known for it's attractiveness to the gay and lesbian community. (One need not be gay to live there, I did for a number of years a while back). There are arthouse theatres, a number of nightclubs and clubs catering specifically to the gay community, cinemas, bookstores...all open quite late.
I'll keep thinking on this, but it would help to know what sort of activities you like to get up to, and what you think of as 'late.'
