Chicago DU'ers Jewel is running some misleading ADS

Do you know how they have the 10 for a Dollar or .10 cent sales?

They now have 10 pounds for $10.00 dollars for fruit and vegetables and the signs make it look like 10 apples, oranges, etc for $1.00.

I thought that the fruit and vegetables at Jewel looked too good to be on sale for 10 for a dollar if you know what I mean.

I bagged up a bunch of things and when I got up to cashier and she rang my purchases up and said $65.00 I am like what the hell is going on here.

She then started bitching me out and asked me if I could read. I felt like an idiot and I asked her what she meant. She said that is was 10 pounds for $10.00.

I felt like an idiot until half of the line that heard the entire ordeal go off said that they made the same mistake and they started laying their veggies and fruits on the side of the counter.

Years ago I would have handed the cashier a credit card so that she would have shut up. I am poor now so we had a few words and I know it wasn't her fault but she bitched me out like I was a freaking idiot.

Obviously I'm not in Chicago 'cause I thought you were talking about Jewel the singer!

Retail scams have largely been legalized now.

shop somewhere else besides jewel or dominicks...ever try meijer..they are based out of Michigan and use a lot of midwestern products.

Out here in Elgin we used to have a wonderful large independent supermarket called Gromer's. He went bankrupt when he tried to expand with a large new store on the depressed East Side. There is a Butera there now, and I am seriously considering moving my shopping to there from Jewel (which is really Albertsons.)
