FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi announced Monday that he will return to the practice field this week after suffering a mild stroke in February.
Bruschi said he plans to return to the practice field by Wednesday. He did not say when he expected to return to the playing field.
Bruschi thanked his wife, Heidi, teammates, Patriots coaches and management, team doctors and trainers, as well as his fans for their support during the last eight months.
"It has been along road to rehabilitation -- mentality, physically, emotionally -- it has been a rough road," he said.
Bruschi suffered a mild stroke in February and planned on taking a year off. The team announced Sunday that the 32-year-old was cleared by doctors to take part in practices.
http://www.thebostonchannel.com/sports/5107195/detail.htmlI'll tell you folks, this scares the hell out of me...I still have visions of Reggie Lewis dropping on the parquet floor many years ago. Every time he puts his head down to tackle someone, I'm gonna cringe...
