Ok. I'm officially old
There was a time when I would only wear Levi's jeans, that was in my teens and 20s. Eventually I found out the Lee's weren't too bad so I settled on them because they were just a bit less expensive.

Today I went to the store and they had a "Buy one get one free" sale on Sonoma jeans and I bought 2 pairs and got two for free. I never thought I would get to a point where all I cared about was getting something cheap rather than looking cool.

God I'm getting old... :cry:

Let's just say I had one size since high school and when I turned 40, I went up a size.

Here is the funny part. I had 2 pair that still fit and yesterday at work I sat on a small bookshelf and after a while it fell out from under me. The whole thing came crashing down and it seemed to have taken a half an hour for me to fall..lol.

Something caught my leg and ripped my jeans down the thigh and tore my pants all the way down. Not only did it cut thru my skin, it ruined one of two pair that I had.

I need to do something..lol. I have a whole dresser full of my old size.

13. My favorite pants ripped recently also -
Unfortunately, I discovered it while at the grocery store with all of my kids. My 18-year-old said you couldn't tell unless I bent over, but there was a rip about six inches long right next to one of the back pockets.

Favorite pants. Comfortable, worn-in brown corduroy jeans. I may have to patch 'em and keep wearing 'em.

Not in a bad way, it's just funny to see how you change because some things don't seem so important any longer. I wish I had this "wisdom" a few years back.

that's just realising that there's far better things to spend your hard-earned on than "name" brand clothes - they're all made by the same sweatshops in Asia - change the labels and you wouldn't know the difference in a lot of cases.

I've been doing it for years - plus I don't give a toss whether people think I'm cool or not. I'm me and that's it.

End of sermon.

6. Honestly
It wasn't so much the "name brand" as it was the way clothes fit. But then again I have noticed that the name brands haven't kept up to the same standards as they once did.

8. That's very true - the off-brands didn't fit the same way
but I weighed it up and I took the savings - life's full of compromises.

And I can relate to going up a size, though that didn't happen to me until I was 44 or 45 (middle-age spread ??). I must've passed "Go" or something because it really snuck up on me.

Try being past 60!

I don't mind it though..it sure beats the alternative!

And one of the perks of getting older is realizing just how much you really know, and knowing what is valuable to you.

You have learned that, and such a good thing that is!

11. Yeah Peggy, I don't really feel old
It's just fun to see how you change things as you go along in life. I actually like being in my 40s. I thought the 30s were better than 20s and now I am realizing that 40s are better than 30s. I figure that by the time I am 200 I will be all out giddy. LOL

The way I shop is knowing exactly what I am getting and where it is. I found the Kohl's jeans dept. years ago so when I know I need them I head right there, get the pants and split..LOL.

It's not about shopping, it's getting in and out as fast as I can (like I said..typical man..LOL)
