It is truly disturbing how dumb people are.
At my work we have a special on 99 cent hot fudge sundaes and today two ladies came in to order some. Now that's all normal enough, but the question they asked my co-worker is not.

I'm at one end of the deli and she's at the other taking their order, it took all of my well power not to laugh out loud....

"We'd like two hot fudge sundaes please, but, is the fudge hot?"

They were serious when they asked this! No, it's not hot we just call them "hot fudge sundaes" for the hell of it. :eyes:

4. On the other side of the counter
I went to buy a printer ink cartridge at Staples. They were behind the counter, so I had to ask for one. Before the cashier rang it up he asked, "And do you need any printer ink today?"

77. That's more force of habit...
I used to work at OfficeMax (not a bad place to work for a retail job, I mostly liked it) and when running registers you were expected to ask for add-ons, most often ink or toner. It's very easy, even when ringing up ink carts, to spout that question without thinking. I think I did it a time or two, before my coffee kicked in. :D

Todd in Beerbratistan (would you like a MaxAssurance with that?) hehe

These three douchebags came to where I work and bought a gun safe; my boss handed them the combination to the lock and told them to pull around back. The assholes didn't have it for five minutes and they lost it.
:banghead:
My boss had to call the manufacturer and ask for it again.

23. Ha.. When I worked at the movie theatre...
We came out of the Titanic movie after cleaning it. There was a long line outside the auditorium and I made a joke (to a fellow usher) about how I couldn't believe that the boat sank at the end. This one lady started yelling at me for giving away the ending.

I also had a girl that was about 17 ask what Romeo and Juliet was about.. *sigh*

We had about 4 thousand per week come through (on average). I did that shit for three years. I have been hit, grabbed, pushed into walls, sodas thrown at me, and a few people told me they wanted to kill me. Oh, and I got my tie sucked into a leaf-blower.

I miss that job so much.

My point, dealing with that many people sucks. 99.9% are normal. That small group is fucking retarded.

69. Wow, that reminds me of something that happened to me
and my dad once.

When I was little whenever my parents got an urge for barbeque (they're from TN, we live in WA), we would go down to this restaurant in town and buy a bunch of pulled pork to bring home (my parents didn't like their sauce or slaw).

One day, my dad and I walked in and asked for something like two pounds of pulled pork. The guy says, "Sure---is that for here or to go?"

71. I'm a magnet for people like that
My last job only had fake plants because of people with allergies only some people didn't realize they were fake and watered them. If you water floral foam it grows mold and attracts fruit flies. Try "politely" explaining this to your staff.

Or better yet, without insulting her intelligence, spend your entire break teaching a staff member you're suppose to be training how to use a mouse.

Then there's the job I had doing data entry. Nothing like looking at a hospital requisition and seeing doctors send urine for foot wounds or send in a note with a list of symptoms claiming they don't know what to test for so they're sending in every specimen type they can think of for us to figure out. I started taking vitamins and watching what I eat after working there.

Thanks to jobs like this I feel it's my duty to point out when someone's being a moran in public because I know the employees could get into trouble for doing this.

Like one time when I saw a woman yell at a guy at D'Angelo's because she didn't get croutons and pita bread with her turkey salad. I asked her :wtf: did she expect when she ordered off of the Atkins menu? That shut her up quick. Then there was the woman I saw try to return bacon a 7-11 because it felt greasy and didn't smell. She begged the cashier who I know was Muslim and all us us in line to touch her bacon. When I took the lid off of my Pepsi and asked everyone, "Can you touch this I think it's too wet? My Pepsi doesn't smell!" She got the hint and left.

My godmother and some of her friends told me of how once while out to eat one of them asked for her food without MSG. The waitress then asked if she would like it on the side.

75. The joys of working in the service industry.
We used to get arguments about the price. Say something is 99 cents. When they got their bill it would be $1.07. They'd argue and claim false advertising because we said the price was $0.99. They didn't care that it was state taxes that raised the price $0.07 and that WE were charging $0.99 for our part of the bill.
