8. Go for it.

I love change. I had past-the-shoulders hair for years. Then I had a great time with lengths and different looks. Then I wore it short for years. Now - it's growing back to my shoulders. I do beards and stuff on occasion. It's fun to cut them off and look young all of the sudden.

7. Bad idea, unless you can _really_ grow them.

Mr. Heidi has a thick beard, but his hair is blondish, so it takes a long while for him to produce anything visually distinguishable as real sideburns. :shrug:

Do something a bit more sinister. Have fun with it. Let the bangs grow, too, it looks great with bedroom eyes, which you have, bigtime. Cheerful's nice - but it won't get you laid.

Just don't pierce anything - that was over before it was in. My position: if the kids in the 'burbs are doing it - it's over.
