How Do I Drain My Flooded Kitchen???
ARRRRRGH! It's really hard to type in rubber gloves, and I'll DIE before I get the place dry using a frigging mop (which I had to go out and buy a big one of).

Do I have to buy a wet/dry shop vac when the stores open? I live in an apartment; I'll probably never need it again... Oh well.

{whine}

I dont want to be doing this with a 103.2 fever! (Or even if I were well, come to think about it.)

1. You know I live in an apartment and Wet/Dry vacs aren't that bad
They actually have smaller size ones that might fit your bill

I do find it useful to have one especially with 2 cats in the house. This thing is a 2 galleon one that runs $30

2. Cool!
I have 6 cats, so maybe I need a bigger model... :)

ANYTHING would be better than doing this by mop!

4. Do you have an apartment manager?
I always called them and maintenance cleaned up my flooded kitchen and the kitchen of the people living below me. Otherwise it's a wet vac or all the towels in the house.

5. Wet/Dry Vac right away...put on layers and open the windows wide
and run a fan....You don't want any mold growing. When it's dry, I would use straight bleach on it. :hi:

7. Discovered Flood At 1:30 am; It's Now 6:10 am
Will be buying vac as soon as one can be bought! In the meantime, throwing out all soaked items (my kitchen is also my office). It's not too bad; about an inch in half the kitchen. My horrid housekeeping only makes it worse!

10. Just A Kidney Infection
It's actually a 'flare' of my chronic kidney infection, so while I feel like crap (and am a pity whore) I'm kinda used to it.

Ya know, my last housecleaning crisis came during a flare of the infection... my kidneys and/or my apartment hates me!

11. Try calling a rug shampooing company
They pull water out. Also, there are companies that specialize in removing water but I'd try the landlords. If it's a plumbling problem, they are responsible for cleaning it up. Feel better.

12. REP, try this...
I recently moved from being a renter to a landlord. I would do the following:
1. What is the source of the leak?
2. Quit mopping and pour bleach into your spill, then go rent a wet-
vac. They work well, but are noisy.
3. Tell your landlord as soon as possible. If your landlord does not
have the following rule you may wish to suggest it; NOTHING other
than toilet paper goes in the toilet. No paper towels, no kleenex,
and especially no female hygiene products.
Good luck REP, I wish you the best.
