hmmm Should I do another job search roadtrip?
As you all know a week or two ago I made a seven hour drive to a job interview that turned out to be a waste of time.....

Well now I called another paper that is about a seven or eight hour drive away...the editor said they are not officially looking for someone but the paper is growing and if the right fit came around he would be interested...

Then he said "I suggest you find a way to come up here and see me"

Should I go...it's not a for sure thing. The only good part is that I have family in that town and wouldn't have to drop 70 clams on a hotel room...what do you think...should I tell him if I have a serious chance I will go? Or should I just go?

1. What the heck? Go!
See the family and drop in on this guy. He's just feeling you out for how serious you are. Maybe if you make a good impression you'll get hired.

2. Just go... you'll get to see your family even if you don't get the job.
so, it won't be a totally wasted trip.

3. Well, what else are you doing?
If you are willing to relocate for the job then I don't see any reason why you shouldn't go. He wants to interview you so the guy's interested. Why not give it a shot?

4. I guess good points
Plus - it kinda sounded like he may be advertising for a new reporter soon. So it'd be best to beat that advertisment....ya never know who may be applying along with you.
