I met this girl at a bar a month ago. I was out with my guy friends, and I saw this girl dancing at the bar with so much spirit and grace. So I just went up to her and said "You're a really good dancer. You dance with so much spirit." And so we hit it off for about 10 minutes before the bar closed. I got her number.
Anyways, for a month we kept meaning to get together, but we never actually did. She said she was broke and depressed, and needed to get her shit together before she could hand out. Understandable.
So last week, she called me and invited me to her birthday party. She found a job and was finally feeling better. So her friends and I went bowling. It was good. We exchanged smiles, hugged each other when we got strikes...but she was paying attention to her friends, too. Fine. We went out to the bar, and were all exchanging stories. She loved my stories, I loved hers. I had a really bad cold all night, though.
Her and her two friends drive me home afterwards. She sat shotgun, her friend drove, I sat in back. When they dropped me off, she got out and said "I have to give you a hug." So she got out, and then gave me a kiss on the cheek. I kissed her back, but said "I'd kiss you on the lips, but I have a cold." She sort of laughed, but then she left.
Now we were supposed to hang out this weekend, but she has been hard to get a hold of. She was supposed to call me Saturday, but didn't.
What do you think about my lame quote "I'd kiss you on the lips, but I have a cold." She knew I had a bad cold. What should have I said/done?
