1. Red Dwarf RPG, D&D, and Modern D20 here.
Edited on Tue Oct-25-05 08:57 AM by JonathanChance
Yes, DU nerds, there is a roleplaying game based on Red Dwarf.

http://www.deep7.com/product.php?cat=reddwarf

I GM Red Dwarf. MY D&D Character is Sho Rembo, a 5th level Elf Fighter who is deadly with his +2 Composite Long Bow that does 1d6 fire damage. He also has a sweet keen +2Longsword that does more criticals and does 1d6 Electrical Damage. My Modern D20 Character is an ex-cop working with a secret agency tasked with fighting the minions of hell and is a crack shot with his .357 Magnum.

I love that game

I've also played some goooood Star Wars campaigns, but, it reaaaaaally depends on the GM and other players as to my love/hate for it

3. Here.
My wife and I play Alternity via IRC weekly, and just joined a monthly in-person AD&D game. I've been playing for over twenty-five years*, and my wife began when we met ten years ago.

11. Love Cthulhu
I've ran and played in some awesome Cthulhu games before. My favorite type of encounter...

"Ok you're in the office of the mansion. Wood paneling along the walls, a large bookcase, and a roaring fireplace. Roll spot."

*player rolls well*

"ok you think you notice some strange movement in the fireplace, unlike the movement of the fire itself. Your eye catchs the movements of a hideous three tentacled thing both hairy and scaly. Roll Sanity. MUA HA HA HA HA"

14. Our DM was great
We'd start playing Champions or something and in the middle of the action he'd switch over to Cthulhu without telling us.

Fun and more than a little scary....

Khash.

17. Yeah I did that once
I had FINALLY convinced a few guys to play Bunnies and Burrows in the GURPS system, which if you haven't played (bunnies and burrows that is) you NEED to.

Anyway they sort of did it grudgingly and they had fun, little bunny adventures...then it turned insane as I made it totally Call of Cthulu meets BnB (Bunnies and Cthulhu) with a black rabbit name Nyar trying to get the good bunnies and evil rabbit magic, and deep ones and the whole shebang.

We only were able to play a few times in that, but it was totally nuts. I still laugh thinking of how one of the players reacted to his bunny PC going temporarily insane.

In fact I may have laughed more during those games than at any other time.

Good times.

19. Just started playing this....
And I'm liking it a lot better than the other stuff I'd done ('tradtional' DnD, PlaneScape). Our DM is travelling with his band right now, though, which sucks :(

it's a great game. I hate it when you're in the middle of a campaign and the GM takes off. Lame!

I also still *after over 10 years* play Magic the Gathering...I was also really into Vampire: The Masquerade for a while...I am a self proclaimed dork! And I love it!

8. D&D 3.5
Played since 1980 on and off, but have been DMing a game with three players for over a year now, we meet about every other week for 4-5 hours. We're about to start a new campaign in Eberron. Our first campaign was a Forgotten Realms one and we went from 1st level through 13th level over the past year and 30+ sessions.

It's a great way for adult nerds to get together in our busy lives and actually see our friends and hang out and have fun.

13. Well we played 1st for a LONG time
Even well past when 2nd was introduced we just stuck with 1st edition. I kept trying to prod people to just look at 2nd edition, but they didn't want to.

We just made the transition a year ago at the start of this campaign. AFter a year of playing in it everyone is sold. There are problems with it, namely if you plan it out you can really 'game' the system and seriously overpower your characters, but on the whole it just is easier I think.

I particularly like getting rid of THACO which was just way too complicated looking back on it. The new attack and AC system is much better and more straightforward.

Well I gotta disagree. I think that 2nd Edition was better than 1st, but after playing it 3rd edition is by far my favorite. I like the customization more, the ease of play, the skills, etc.

I wouldn't go back.

My wife plays Chaos and Brettonia.

We both play Orcs and Gobbos. ;D

I want to collect Space Marines or Eldar for 40k, but I don't have the money for that right now.

18. An old DM from the early days of D&D
Started from the old Chainmail and Greyhawk books. Still have my old blue D&D instruction book around here somewhere.

Got tired of being the only one able/willing to DM. Now I get my RPG fix from silicon. I prefer the solo or limited multiplayer varieties as I like to at least imagine I am exploring someplace another party hasn't tromped through recently.

i love the silicon variety as well, but nothing for me is as fun as just getting together with friends around a table. No matter how fun those games are, I still need that group thing. For me alot of it isn't just because it's fun or roleplaying, but I like spending time with my friends. :)

25. Played for 25 years or so...currently have a campaign once a week
My own world (D&D 3.5) is enjoying it's 15th year anniversary, and I'd say I'm less than a year from getting my first sourcebook for that world published.

26. D&D, Star Wars...
and ramping up for a Serenity game...

Our group is a little disorganized, temporarily, what with me apathetic, and a couple of our players having a 12-day-old infant.
