Is furniture patented??
My daughter is an interior design student and designed and built a table that her professor has been after her to market to Ikea. She is clueless about the process. Does she need a patent on the design? Or just pitch it to a company who will develop it? Lawyer needed, I presume?

2. She already *has* a copyright on the design.

Obtaining a patent is a more involved process.

I don't know of any honest "help to patent" firms out
there. Maybe someone else does.

3. Rules for applying for "Protected Design" or (D) status.

Here's how to go about making it official.
