My only decent photo of this bald eagle nest, papa with fledglings...
...ok, it could be the mama--they take turns hunting while the other watches the chicks. If you look closely (got better shots with my zoom lense--not digital, though) you see two little heads. This was late May. A couple weeks later Mom and Dad had left, along with one fledgling. The one left was testing his wings. Did it for quite some time. Sad thing is I heard a couple weeks past that he still hadn't left the nest--probably didn't make it.

6. Thanks...I was in yellowstone this summer, and then in late August
I saw two mating in the air--yes, they do it in flight!

3. You need a big lens; 400mm at least
Probably like me; need big bucks to feed the habit. I could go into a camera store with 10 grand and spend it in about half an hour...

4. I do have a 400mm...took photos of the fledgling flapping a
couple weeks later--not digital, though, so i can't post those!
