Where were you when MASH went home.

Radar
Colonel Potter
Hawkeye
Charles
BJ
Margaret
Klinger
Trapper John
And all the fun loving crew of that lovable MASH unit as they waded through the gore of war and found a light hearted romp in Korea

Bobby Troup.

6. It was on Hallmark Channel this afternoon & repeating now
I cry a bit every time I see it. Especially poignant now, with troops in Iraq....

The previous night, I had been to a sort of MASH funeral at a restaurant a friend owned at the time. Wonderful program.

On edit: Also a terrific movie and one that I own.

10. I was watching and being VERY disappointed
The show had run too long, and the final episode was clear proof of that!

13. Sorry to say, they just tried to throw in everything.
I remember reading they'd decided - on fairly short notice - to make it 2.5 hours instead of 2. Should have seen it as a warning.

They could have hacked an hour out of it and it would have been nice and tight.

11. I was 11
I remember how hyped the episode was, but being an 11 year old girl, I think I was happy to see it go. Besides, the Korean War did not last for what was it, 10, 12 years?

14. Ah, yes but "the real war
was not on for only a half an hour a week, and combat rarely stops for commercials." (quote from Larry Gelbart a MASH writer for many years) ;-)

I wasn't born yet when it went off the air, but it's still one of my favorite shows. I think the last episode was a fitting end after all the characters and actors had been through over the years. The writers wanted to give every character/actor his or her own story line in the final episode--it had to be that long! :-)

16. I really, really, really hated that one scene . . .
. . . where the Korean mother choked her baby to death. It disturbed me profoundly at the time and even now I don't like to think about it.
