on edit... for that reason I still kinda have a soft spot for him.

I really liked Genesis up until "Duke". After that, the brilliant moments got fewer and far between.

I also think "Face Value" had a couple of good tracks, too, for that matter. I knew he'd jumped the shark when he appeared on "Miami Vice". Who cares if he was a child actor-- he still sucked!

not all of his music sucks ...

or perhaps PC only appeals to us old folks :shrug:

And the Peter Gabriel-era Genesis stuff is as good as gold, IMHO.

But After 1980 or so, he's been in steady decline. Like the Roman Empire.
