3. Eat a Shoarma, some Indonesian food and some falafels (No Joke)
Swallow some Herring like the Dutch do and wash it down with some Grolsch.

Watch your wallet in the RLD and take some protection. Never leave your drink alone.

Get your Euros at a bank vs. the Exchange store on the Damrak, or whatever.

Buy a TIME OUT: Amsterdam magazine and a good pocket map.

EVERYBODY speaks English.

Check out the cheese.

Most of all: HAVE FUN

Tot Ziens!

pretty pretty please?

Definitely go the Van Gough museum and the Museum of modern art next door. Smoke non-stop. and eat mushrooms in any of the great parks, like vondel, ooster or the natura (this is where the zoo, aquarium etc. is)

8. Don't forget Ann Frank House...

on 263 Prinsengracht. That was my favorite spot in Amsterdam - and honestly, the only place to be.

All I remember from Amsterdam are thugs - all over town. Very sexist, racist, and homophobic. Given that I am female, transgender, and Asian, that's a triple whammy for me; if you don't look Dutch and male, they'll be after you too.

Of course, nobody talks about these thugs because they are Surinamese immigrants, therefore too politically incorrect to bash.

It got so bad that the best part of my whole trip was sitting 12+ hours in United Airlines economy class - at least I had Melissa Etheridge's music to keep me company there!

Then go on the Heineken factory tour. Save the munchies for when you are in the tasting room. THEN hit the Van Gogh museum.

18. It's been many years since I was in Holland
but, I do remember going to this wonderful place. Meduradam <sp>. It was a place where a town was completely replicated in minature. Holland is such a small place, should be easy to find. Another thing I remember, is whatever park we were in, all the garbage cans, when you opened them up to put in garbage said, "Thank you" in Dutch. Needless to say, the parks were spotless. You should know that this was in the '60s, so things might have changed.
