1. Nice work!
After having putzed with hardware with NO blow ups for 10+ years, this year I've blown a motherboard and a hard drive. I have officially 'resigned' from the hardware side of IT and assume my position as a developer/software/data geek.

:toast: to you!

4. I'm a software geek too
But I can also fiddle with tangible stuff without causing explosions!

Stictly amateur though. :)

6. I did, too.. for a long time. Then... pop.... fry... gone.
:(

Now, I will leave the hardware to my hardware friends.

8. How do you know it was your fault?
Ten years and then one mishap does not sound catastrophic to me! :pals:

2. Do you work on computers for a living
or is it just something you like to do?

:)

3. Yes I do, but I'm not a get-your-hands-dirty guy by trade
I'm a computer programmer by profession. But I assembled my home computer myself because I could get a better one that way. Plus when stuff breaks (like my power supply) I can replace it myself without needing to get a new computer!

17. Programmer riddle for billyskank
Q: How many software engineers does it take to change a lightbulb?

A: None. That's a hardware issue.

18. And
Q. How many hardware engineers does it take to change a light bulb?

A. Two. One to change it, and the other to say, when it doesn't work:

"it must be a software problem."

:hi:
