Ghost story time...
...Let's hear 'em, folks. Your best ghost story and none of this "cousin of a friend" junk either. We want to hear something that happened to you or someone you directly know.

1. I'm the one who never gets haunted.
Truly. I know all sorts of people who claim supernatural experiences, but nothing like that ever happens to me.

2. This one time, at band camp,
a zombie ate my brain. It really does explain a lot about my posts, though.

That's it. Don't get too close to me though, as I've got that whole "eat your brains" thing going on. But I won't, for obvious reasons.

It's tough being a vegan zombie. Really, it is.

3. ok, I posted this before , but
Slumber party at my house, five of us about 11 or 12 years old. We got out the Ouija board and started talking to two spirits that claimed to be my step-dad and his son. We asked them to prove it, and they appeared. Just sitting on the couch.

5. We talked all night to them
My sister and I pretty much knew they were there around the house from conversations we had had before the Ouija board. They hung out mostly in the basement and by the hallway of my mom's room. Around high school, they left the house(my sisters who were blood relatives had moved out of the house and my mom had pretty much gotten over their deaths).

I have alot of other stories about other relatives and ghost from apartments I lived at in college, but I'll spare everyone. I know DU is filled with a bunch of skeptics. I like the Ouija story, since it leaves little to doubt.

7. I'm an optimistic skeptic
I can say with absolute certainty that I really don't know ;)

But what did the spirits look like?

8. This one time . . .
. . . like, I went into this old house and stuff and nobody was there and I was walking around and, like, this white mist floated by and stuff and I was like, "Woah, that's frightening!"

;)

9. I'm a terminal skeptic
however....
My cat died a year ago. She had been with me for over 20 years. Anyway, the night after she died, I was lying in bed reading, when I felt a thump on the end of the bed, and then it was as if something was walking up my legs. The "something" then seemed to cuddle down behind my knees. This behaviour was exactly what my baby used to do. This happened several nights in a row. Then just .... stopped. It was very odd. I know I was a awake when these incidents happened. So was she saying good bye? Or was my imagination working overtime - what with missing her so much and all?

10. Gather close, and I will reveal the story of....
...Bitch Kitty. I had this pal of mine named Michael who was living with a few other folks in Alabama. Most of his roommates were out shopping, and he was cleaning the house a little, when he tripped over the housecat, lovingly named "Bitch Kitty", mostly because of a bad temperment and the fact that he just didn't really like the cat much. Anyways, the cat kept getting in his way as he was sweeping, so he grabbed the cat by the scruff of the neck and threw it into a closet. Now that closet was a strange one, as it was always dank and smelly, and just had an odd "feel" about it. So, he puts the cat in, and goes about his business.

So....just about the time he closes the door and gets back to work, one of his friends comes in and says something to the effect of "What the hell happened to Bitch Kitty?" Michael turns to his roomie with a puzzled look and asks what he means. The roomie leads Michael out to the front yard where they find Bitch Kitty, obviously dead, with a scowl on her face. Rigor had set in, as she was quite cold and stiff. Michael explained his story, but when they went to look in the closet for her, there was no cat.

Several people have corroborated this story. Creepy, no? I still can't figure it out. Was he dealing with a cat ghost? Was the foul smelling closet something more sinister? We'll never know. Cool story, though.

11. Aight, here's one that's really bothering me:
Not a story, just something weird that's been happening.

Just lately, in my parents' house, I've been seeing a lot of dark, flickering things out of the corner of my eye. Nothing too dramatic--well, until last week--but enough to bug me.

My mother has not been in the best of health lately. I've been wondering if she already has confirmation of a serious health issue from her doctor that she has not chosen to share with the family yet. Last week, as I was passing my parents' bedroom, I thought I saw a dark shadow stretched out next to her side of the bed. When I looked more closely, there was nothing. This didn't leave me with a good feeling.
