1. What are white gorillas?
I have never heard of them in my life. Are they the kind that were in the movie "Congo"?

2. Snowball is a rare albino gorilla.
He's famous not only for that, but for being the cover story of a National Geographic many years ago. He's been the mascot of the Barcelona zoo for years. And now the poor old guy is dying.

5. Very rare, apparently.
The article says this is the only albino gorilla in captivity in the world...and it's apparently dying of inoperable cancer...(I can read French a hell of a lot better than I can speak it, fortunately...high school Latin and college Spanish were good for something, apparently, although I don't use either...)

6. Thanks BurtWorm,
I was trying to find a pic of him over at National Geographic, but their online archives only go back to 1996.

that which made him unique is also possibly responsible for his demise. skin cancer as a result of his albinoism...
