Here's a photo of a Mama moose and her calf for your enjoyment...
...sorry it's not very clear, but you can at least see them...it really is a sweet pix. This was at the Grand Tetons in June--Moose-mania at that time of the year there!

1. I got between a cow and calf one. Those were some very scary and tense
moments.

2. Even grizzly bears won't take on a moose--for the most part...
...they look very docile, but can be very dangerous.

But come, look how sweet and loving Mama looks here!

18. moose are a dime a dozen where I grew up in your state,
at the foot of Mt Katahdin. My parents don't like driving outside of town at night for fear of the moose running out in the road. I believe they are a bit paranoid but that is how they are .

26. I don't blamer them esp in fall when they are rutting. I have heard more
than one person talk about a bullmoose who took exception to their car's headlights and called them out.

a couple of days ago when we were out for a sunrise walk. Needless to say, forward motion stopped here.

I will not post my Bullwinkle picture. I will instead stand (okay, sit) in awe.

That really is stunning.

7. Well, thank goodness Moose Season doesn't start there for
3 months after that photo was taken. Hopefully, some limp-dicked moron didn't blast the shit outta momma or baby...

Yup, I said it.

It ain't hunting...it's just killing.

well...it does make for some good stew...sorry i'm not trying to push an agenda on anyone...i'm just saying...lots of people up here eat moose...and you have to hunt and kill it to eat it...

and although there have been some exceptions most hunts are for mature males...not "momma and baby"...

hey....deja vu anyone?

9. Alaskan Moose
After the dog, Jack McQuesten managed to
domesticate a couple of Moose.

Yes, those are a couple of Moose. What would McQuesten think of next?

They are awesome animals. I sat and watched one in a stream near Yosemite N.P. once. Just amazing.

16. They are so "interesting" looking....can't really say they're attractive,
although all baby animals are adorable.

Came upon a male with 3 females in late August...he wasn't that mature, so I wonder if he was able to keep his little "harem" or if a more mature bull came up and challenged him.

21. I was in Alaska one September --saw a few fighting--this was in Denali
National Park, but mainly you could HEAR them because it was like wooden shoes smashing together--oh, the headaches! Apparently the male winner is so exhausted from the fighting and from the screwing that he usually doesn't last the winter! But his genes will live on!

I love moose, but they are large and fierce animals.

...you don't see the pond separating us...my camera had a small zoom, so it's not like I was right there.
