14. Sanity has been in Alaska since 1975
Ravin v. State, 537 P.2d 494 (Alaska 1975), possession of up to an ounce of MJ in one's home is protected by the privacy clause of the Alaska constitution.

25. I'm glad to hear it! The rest of the country should follow Alaska's example
I've known about that law for a while. I think it's great that allowing the use of cannabis isn't proving to a problem.

I have one question though - Do your stores run out of chocolate or ice cream a lot?

More than once I've seen a normal sized adult consume 2 pints of Ben & Jerry's due to the munchies.


BTW - that 'normal sized adult' still isn't overweight ...

Or does there exist a wierd contradiction in that you can have up to an ounce in your house but it is still illegal to sell and buy?

45. Nope they changed that years ago
I was living in Anchorage when it was changed in the late 80's. (You could have enough for personal use, just not dealer amounts) If they've changed it back great. But otherwise I'd be careful getting caught with a joint.

When I lived in Denver in 1968 the tune of the day used to be "The police in Denver don't like no long-hairs hangin' 'round," and it was SURE TRUE. Glad to see they've seen the light.
