Techies I ran a line out from my pc to this old 8 track tape player (pic)

MICinput and nothing happens. The only modes are fm/am/tape. There are no recording modes but shouldn't I be able to use this box as an external mono analog speaker for playback of stuff on my PC? The unit is quite loud and sounds good playing back radio and 8 tracks. I'm running a mini plug out of my headset slot into the player.

1. Does the player have an audio in jack?

IF so, you need to run the line from your PC out to the audio in on the player (NOT the audio out on the player). If it's only one speaker, you may have to get an adapter to convert the stereo out from the PC into mono, or else you may not get any signal to the player.

2. Yes. it has a mic jack. I can get a stereo to mono mini adapter but

still, I should be able to get one channel of a stereo recording... at least when i play w/ it. Problem is, i have no idea what mode the players mic input should be in... I only see am/fm/tape. And the tape is a playback mode. I remember as a kid, units like this were used as a small p/a mr. obnoxious mr. microphone type way.
