Bang on a Can's version of Riley's "In C" - holy shit good!!
Just got it tonight and listened to it three times already - I've had the version done by Riley for years. It was one of the first CDs I bought when CDs first came out. I love this piece.

But Bang On A Can found an emotional level in the music that I never thought was there - I actually had tears the first time listening to it (and this was HOURS before I found out my friend died). Who'd have thunk it, but the truth is, In C can be played at an incredibly emotional level.

This is a truly brilliant performance. I'm sad that it's only 45 minutes long, I was hoping that since they were recording for CD and not vinyl, they would have stretched it out to 65+ minutes, but I'll take what I can get.
