"The good thing about an ex-husband is...."
".... he takes the kids and I get to hang out with my girlfriends."

My buddy and I were watching TV and we stopped on a cooking show and the host actually said that..lol. We were stunned. Even if you think that way, who the hell would ever say that out loud and especially on television? I bet her children are really proud of mom.

We laughed all night about that.

1. I don't think it's unreasonable.
She could have said, "the best thing about an ex-husband is that I divorced that SOB."

Appreciating an ex-husband for taking the kids and giving a mom time to enjoy her adult friends is hardly laughable. Single moms work hard (so do single dads), so it's understandable to take a night for her or himself.

If it were a man saying "I can't wait to spend a day at Moe's with my buddies," I wonder how many people would actually think about what he did with his kids.

2. My buddy is a single parent
And he loves spending time with his children. When he heard the woman say that his jaw dropped.

3. My ex gets the kids every sunday from 1-8...
I miss them the entire time they're gone, BUT.. I am able to catch up on things I cant do when they're here because I'm occupied by them. I also can take a well needed nap during the afternoon. I wouldnt say I'm HAPPY they're gone but I use my time in ways I cant when they're with their father.
