Bomb Squad Robot Rescues Pet Bird

SYDNEY, Australia -- Its job is usually to disarm bombs. But a robot in Australia had a different task today: rescuing a pet bird from a crumbling Sydney apartment building.

Karen Bruce was forced to leave after part of the building partially collapsed due to construction on a new tunnel nearby.

She couldn't get back in to rescue Tweety the cockatiel, so the robot went in and got the bird.

Bruce said the bird got some seed and water and is "quite content."
