Ahh, nothing beats a good hardcore show on a Sunday night

Just got home from seeing these guys, Protest The Hero.

Talked to them for a bit after the show, nice guys. That is why small bar shows are infinitely cooler than stadium shows.

If you like heavy music at all, check them out. Two of the songs on the Purevolume page are from their EP "A Calculated Use of Sound", the other one, Nautical, is from their new album "Kezia". I can't recommend either album enough. "Kezia" has some stronger metal influence than "Calculated Use", which took me a while to get into, since I am not a metalhead at all, but now I would bear its children given the opportunity.

A few local artists/a local band played as well, but I don't know if they have websites or anything, but they were cool too. The band's singer is in my anthropology class, which was a cool surprise.

I didn't get any pictures, sadly, (too much non-stop rock), but since I had my SLR, I wouldn't have been able to post them anyway.

You seem to have bad luck with shows... I have heard of that band.. I will check them out. Christ it has been a long time since I have seen a show.. I think The Queers was the last.

At one point I thought I wasn't going to be able to make this one because of the time the busses stop running and my otherwise complete lack of transportation, but then I decided that I wanted to go badly enough to spring for a cab.

I think I uploaded "A Calculated Use Of Sound" to the music blog actually.

I was home by 1:30 and I do't usually go to bed until 2:30 on school night's anyway. And I'm up and feeling nicely rested now, so I'm going to grab some breakfast.
