4. That totally sucks....Golightly? Many hugs to you. I can't stand that
stuff. It's like "thick" water. Blech. Between wanting to retch from drinking it to needing to do "the other thing", it's a night of misery.

I'm feeling your pain.    But good on you for doing the test.

Thanks for the hug! I have to repeat it at 9:00 9:10 and 9:20 again tonight :(

9. On the upside....Golightly aka Colightly is a big old jug that you have
to drink 8 oz every 20 minutes of. I know that doesn't help, because you still end up with the same crappy result...pun intended.

I'm so sorry, poor baby...Here's another hug. Don't take a shower until you are *sure* you are empty...that's my advice.

I've had to do Phosphasode numerous times due to kidney stone diagnostic tests and treatment. Ugh! You need lots of hugs!

Prep is definitely the worse part. And they didn't make my husband try to fart when he had his last year. Maybe some nurses do and some don't. Must be a crap shoot. (Pun intended.) ;)

Hope all is well with you soon and your tests come out fine. I can't imagine doing this prep with small children around to care for! ACCCKKKKK!

Procedures are FAAAAR from fun.. I'm only 24 and this is NOT how I want to be spending my night.

Hubby is at work until 8, then he goes for an MRI at 9 and heres me doing this prep with a 2, 4 & a 2 month old all by myself!! Called a neighbor to see if she'd come sit with me while I'm 'busy' and shes going out :(

What stuff are you drinking? I had the Fleet phospo-soda. VILE!!!

But take heart- it will all be over tomorrow.

PM me if you have any questions about the procedure. I've had it twice...it's not bad at all.

18. Same here...
It is vile!! I gave it everything I had not to throw it right back up. I'm doing it like a shot - 8 oz of ginger ale with 1 tablespoon of that retched stuff and DOWN it as fast as I can.

21. oh my god...no kidding
I think when I did this 5 years ago I mixed it with sprite which masked the flavor better. But I used ginger ale last week too and it was just...not good. I couldn't even finish it all.

Remember to eat very bland food tomorrow after the procedure. I didn't and was very sorry.

33. LISTEN TO GRANNIE
It is totally worth it. You poop and get all cleaned out. (try not to puke up the stuff) Then you go and get GOOOOOD drugs. The TV is interesting because it is all the YOU channel. Your ass, your guts, even a bit of your poop now and then. Then you come out into a big room and they TELL YOU TO FART. There are peopel there YOU KNOW! You go to church with them. You teach their kids. You fart together. Then they let you go home. Now, you have a big decision. Do you want to go out to eat at Friday's FIRST and have a great meal while you are totally STONED or do you want to take the world's best nap first and go out to dinner at Outback later and eat without guilt.

Colonoscopies rock.

The most embarrassing part was the farting. And it's not just one or two. I must have farted for five minutes. Jeebus, I was mortified.

55. I'm afraid you won't have a choice.
The procedure requires that they pump air into you and although they try to suck it all out, well, they don't. You get to expell the remains on your own. Absolutely mortifying. Unless you're into show tunes I guess.

My son had one about 2 years ago. He said, *gross alert*, it felt like he was "peeing out of his butt", and the actual procedure wasn't all that bad except for the loss of his 21yr old dignity. There were pretty nurses in the room.

They brought him a squirt bottle and told him to use it and pat dry. Or maybe his dad(who's been through it a couple times) brought it, I don't remember. Anyway, it helped with the chafing.

Back from my wonderful colonoscopy..

Lucky me.. He said its mild and POSSIBLE so lets hope I was just 'inflamed' from the prep!
