My 15 year old niece has been missing for 24 hours. I need support!

I just had a phone call from my sister followed by another phone call from my nieces step mother informing me that my niece has gone missing.

She was last seen at a local train station with some guy older than herself.

The police are involved.

This has really been a rough 24 hours for me. First learning of Scottie72's death, and now this. I don't know just how much more I can take. I am really at breaking point, and just really need support right now.

It is a difficult situation to be in. My sister lives in the bush. And is a four hour drive from where I am.

My niece had been living with her father and step mother here in Melbourne. I don't have very much contact with them at all.

At this stage I don't know what to do!

Go to her friends. Somebody knows whats going on. If you keep pounding them, they will eventually "spill the beans."

First, you need to keep cool for your family right now. Your sister needs you. There's going to be a lot of work to be done in getting her back, things like pictures and talks with the police and all that sort of thing.

Many of us survive running off with older guys. She will, too. He is probably just her "boyfriend" as unpleasant as that might be...sexual predators usually aim a bit younger.

Get some sleep tonight. Keep us informed.

Unfortunately it is going to be a long day for me. Different time zone for you. So unless she gets found today, I suspect tongiht is going to be a very sleepless night for everyone in both families.

Keep thinking good thoughts, make yourself available to your sister and your family, and know that many people will be hoping for your niece's safe return.

She has gone missing from the suburbs of Melbourne, Australia.

The worst part is where she was last seen, it happens to be one of the worst train stations in one of the worst suburbs in Melbourne.

15 year old girls are hard to figure out sometimes. We raise them to be individuals and empower them and then try to hold them back when they reach their mid-teens. They aren't old enough to be out on their own yet, their harmones control them and they think they know everything.

As an ex-15 year old girl who use to know everything, I did some pretty stupid things, but in the end, I always found myself listening to my inner voice (6th sense) when I got myself in situations that were scary. I am praying that this will be the case with your niece. That she is caught up in an adventure with her "boyfriend" and realize that being out in the world on your own isn't all that much fun.

what state are you in? Get an Amber Alert going.

The more action you take (if you can) the better you will feel.

Everything that can be done by the police is being done. They have people out looking for her. They have walkers out with photo's. The media has not picked the story up yet. Usually something like this does't break the first day.

Usually I am quite calm in bad situations, but not this time.

I am a security officer and do know the dangers. So that makes it even more frightening.

I know it seems like a dumb thing to say, but when something like this happens, eating and sleeping are the last things on your mind (understandably). But try to keep doing the dumb things like that so you have your strength/faculties.

That is absolutely awful - I don't even know what to say that could possibly comfort you. But, only thing I can say is you are VERY supported here - I will be praying for you, your family, and your niece, and that she returns home safe and healthy very soon.

My niece has been found!!! IN short she ended up at one of my sisters friends. I ended up driving down to her friends house today, and my sister drove down to Melbourne tonight.

SO my niece is with us now, and a lot more relaxed than what she has been in a long time. Her father was mistreating her and she was no longer happy there.
