1. Guinness is great
It's all I drink, alcohol wise, although I've become partial to the odd class of chilld Stella Artois.

Do you get the Guinness TV ads over there? They've done some incredible stuff. This one - "Horses and Surfers" - was voted the greatest ever advert in a poll a few years back:

(sorry about the quality, it's the best I can find)

10. I never understood this
Stouts are not any thicker than ales. If you measure the specific gravity some stouts will be lighter than some ales.

9. My two faves, also!
Ever had Johnson's Oatmeal Stout?

Enjoyed it at Howard's Pub in Ocracoke, NC one time- damned if I can find it anyway else.

Would love one right now to celelbrate my new Gov- CORZINE!!

12. Lancaster oatmeal stout is one that I've tried
I don't know where you are in N.J., but in my neck of the woods there's a liquor store next to guitar center in Cherry Hill that has an incredible beer selection, and they sell single bottles. I'll check there for Johnson's. Cheers for the Gov!!
