I gotta pad up my Netflix queue

Any suggestions?

My favorite genres are screwball comedies, socio-political drama and bio and anything about WWII, particularly the air war.

Best Marx Brothers movie, IMHO. Classic screwball comedy.

at least twice. "Duck Soup" is in my meager (three) collection.

And "Horse Feathers" is the funniest. :P

Horse Feathers is next in my Netflix queue.

Its got an air war... sort of... its definately screwball. Just know it will be perhaps the oddest movie you will ever see.

Enigma (Kate Winslet and Doug Ray Scott), Blast From the Past (watch it as a screwball in the same line as Bringing Up Baby), The Contender and Firefly (all four disks).

If you're comfortable with transgenderism, try Different For Girls (some very dark humor).

If you like Documentaries at all, try Born into Brothels (amazing story...)

Born into Brothels- Documentary about a woman's attempt to get children of prostitutes in India out of the brothels and into boarding schools. Excellent. Won the Academy Award for best Documentary last year.

Mad Hot Ballroom- 10 year old NYC kids from some of the poorest neighborhoods compete in a city-wide ballroom dancing competition. The kids grow up fast in the city. Very mature for 10 year olds.

The Station Agent- independent film about a midget who leaves NYC when he inherits an abandoned train station in Jersey from his business partner. Great movie.

Rory O'Shea Was Here- Rory has muscular dystrophy and is a hell-raiser who talks a straight-laced man with cerebral palsy to get an apartment so they can live on their own for the first time in their lives. Very moving.

All the Thin Man movies have just been released on DVD. They fit the screwball comedy category. Highly recommended by Auburngrad82.
